Thedford "Ted" Tubbs, 70, of Indianapolis passed away Monday, April 27 in his home surrounded by his family.  Ted was born May 7, 1949 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to L.D. "Pete" and Coraline (Stone) Tubbs.

Ted proudly served as a United States Marine from October 2, 1968 through March 14, 1971, seeing action in Vietnam.  After service, Ted became a proud father to two children.  In October of 1992, he married the love of his life, Mary Hughes, and together they had two children.  Ted enjoyed reading at home and spending time at bookstores, being outside in the sun, whether it was landscaping and planting flowers that Mary would bring home, spending time with his boys at car auctions and shows, swap meets and flea markets, or taking the entire family to Florida (especially Walt Disney World).  He would take Mary on trips to Nashville and Franklin, Tennessee to visit with friends and take in the attractions.  Ted loved his family fiercely and always placed them above himself; spoiling them in anyway he could, especially shopping for Mary.  More than anything, he loved his sweet granddaughters.  Ted was an amazing son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.

Ted is survived by his mother, Coraline; wife, Mary; children, Andrew (Jennifer) Tubbs, Allison (Jake) Roberts, Alex (Rachel) Tubbs, and Addison Tubbs; granddaughters, Cora and Everly; siblings, Joe (Sandy) Tubbs, Diana (Rob) Neri, Rick (Linda) Tubbs, David (Tana) Tubbs, and Tracey Haddox; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved Dachshunds, Molly, Izzy and Maggie.

In addition to his father, Pete, Ted was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Carolyn Mahaffey, and his best buddy, Max, his dog.

Military honors at the graveside will precede a short service at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.  If you will be coming out, we ask that you please adhere to social distancing guidelines, masks are not required, but encouraged and hand sanitizer will be available.  Semper fi.
