Obituary

Mr. Timothy Brian 'Tim' Phelps, Greenwood, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 27, 2022 at IU Health – Methodist Hospital. He was 53. Tim was born June 8, 1968 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of Edward Lee Phelps and the late Donna Lee (Thompson) Phelps.
Tim attended Triton Central High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1986. He had been employed at J & F Distributing for nearly 30 years, serving in Sales and Customer Service.
Tim loved music and was a collector and dealer of guitars. He had played guitar in the Stoneroot Band for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed classic cars, fishing and sports, especially the Colts, Pacers and the Indiana University Hoosiers. He took great pride in working in his yard and landscaping. Tim loved animals and cared about their well being. He deeply loved his family and cherished the time they spent together.
Tim had a special relationship with everyone he knew and was always generous with his time and knowledge. Even through his employment, as an account executive, he had forged special relationships with his clients especially with the Laibe Corporation.
In his final act of love and generosity, Tim gave the gift of life as an organ donor.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie (Lower) Phelps; his father, Eddie Phelps; his brother, Todd (Jenny) Phelps; a niece, Piper Phelps as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of dear friends.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in passing by his grandparents and aunts and uncles.
Services will be private and burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
A Celebration of Life is being planned and will be announced soon by the family.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the Chicagoland Eskie Rescue.
