Timothy "Tim" Paul
Lacefield
August 22, 1961 – May 7, 2026
Timothy (Tim) Paul Lacefield, 64 years old, died May 7th, 2026, in Morgan County, Indiana. He was a resident of Brown County.
Tim spent the early years of his life on the south side of Indianapolis, on the river, or traveling the countryside. He later moved with his family to Brown County, Indiana, where he met his wife, Diana Gray (Lacefield). They were wed December 13th, 1992, at Cottonwood Christian Church. They settled into the hills of Brown County and raised their children. They were married until Diane lost her battle with lung cancer in 2017.
Tim loved spending time outdoors, surrounded by the people he loved. He was a proud husband and devotedly cared for his terminally ill wife for 7 years. He always had a solution to every problem. He loved his cats, who were his faithful companions, and he held a deep love for his country and God. He was a proud father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He never knew a stranger and was eager to show up in any way he could up until his final days.
Tim is survived by his daughters, Brandi Gerholt (Lacefield) (Walter Gerholt) of Morgan County, Indiana, and Crystal Kemna of Phoenix, Arizona; 7 grandchildren: Jaylen, Landan, Frankie, Jesse, Lilly, Stuart, and Anabelle; his sisters, Linda Purkhiser of Morgantown and Brenda Lacefield of Tucson, Arizona; brothers Roger Lacefield (Linda Kay) of Beech Grove, Indiana; Donnie Lacefield (Bonnie) of Morgantown; and David Lacefield (Kristin) of Wayne County, Pennsylvania; and Jesse Cooper and Lizzie of Versailles, his chosen family. His niece, Serina Lacefield, and nephew, Mitch Purkhiser, and sister Linda, all of Brown County, were his built-in best friends all of their lives.
Tim was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Lacefield; his parents, Edward (Ed) and Helen Lacefield; brothers Jackie Lacefield of Greenwood and Michael (Mike) Lacefield of Morgantown; brother-in-law Dennis Purkhiser of Morgantown; son Jeremy Gray of Bloomington; and longtime friend Susan Laporte Cooper of Versailles.
