Tony Everett Purkhiser, 61 was called Home to serve our Heavenly Father on April 10, 2020, at Community Hospital South, after losing his battle with Covid-19.

Tony was born February 13, 1959, at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove, to Perry and Carolyn (Smithey) Purkhiser.

Tony enjoyed spending time outdoors either camping, fishing, or mushroom hunting.  He also enjoyed traveling, site seeing, Indian history, attending festivals with parades and music, and especially family get togethers.  On rainy days, you could find him relaxing in front of the television watching old John Wayne or Clint Eastwood movies as well as anything Star Wars or SyFy.

Tony truly loved all of his grandchildren deeply-Cory, Braxton, Dakota, Brody, Talon, Tenley, Titan, and Rayna.  He left a legacy of love and touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. Tony will be immensely missed by all.

Tony is survived by his father Perry Purkhiser; daughters Misty (Leta Redman) Purkhiser, Danielle (Matt Timbs) Purkhiser, and Zoey (Steven Sims) Purkhiser; sons TJ (Mya) Purkhiser, Justin (Cassie) Purkhiser, and Cody Purkhiser; brothers, Steve (Trisha) Purkhiser and Terry Purkhiser; sisters, Dawn Hofer and Lynn (Tony) Moore; special friends Ron and Betty Bierod.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Jane (Smithey) Purkhiser; and grandparents Alfred and Rosalie Smithey, and George and Wilma Purkhiser

Due to public health concerns there will be no public visitation or funeral services.  Arrangements are being handled by Forest Lawn Memory Garden and Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date.
