Mr. Travis Scott Key, Morgantown, passed away on the afternoon of Sunday, March 20, 2022. He was 52. Travis was born September 27, 1969 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of the late Richard Floyd Key and Mary Joan Key-Bible.

Travis attended George Washington High School and earned an Associates degree from Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana. Until his illness, he had been employed at Ingredion for the past five years as a processor. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent a lot of his time camping, fishing, hunting and boating. He also enjoyed sports, especially the Colts and NASCAR. He also liked working on cars in his spare time. Travis looked forward to spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren as well as his bonus children and felt it was very important to teach them life lessons. He enjoyed sitting around a bonfire with them, making memories. Travis deeply loved his wife, Melissa, and would often write poetry about her and their special relationship.

Travis is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Key; his mother, Mary Joan Key-Bible;step father George Bible; his children, Lacey Beard, Amber Moore, Tommy Key, Ashley Yeary, Jonathon Yeary, Makayla Yeary as well as his several bonus children; 10 grandsons; one granddaughter; his sister, Tonya Key; and a brother-in-law, Tony (Jean) Cowger and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in passing by a grandson, Aiden Yeary.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 6:00 pm, Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood.

There will be no funeral services.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the American Cancer Society.
