Ursula Greta
Marie (Schumacher) Cline
Oct 25, 1924 — Oct 12, 2020
Beech Grove
Ursula G. M. (Schumacher) Cline, 95, of Beech Grove passed away October 12, 2020. She was born October 25, 1924 in Bremen, Germany to the late Bernhardt and Margaret Schumacher.
Ursula was a strong, amazing woman, who grew up in Germany during World War II. She met her husband, Donald R. Cline, in Germany while he was stationed over there. Donald was so smitten with her that he enlisted for a second tour just so he could continue to court her and later marry. It was a true romance and a long and lasting love. Ursula was very involved in community activities, especially if it had to do with German heritage. She was a member of the Eastern Star for more than 50 years, German Park, the Turner's Club at the Athenaeum, Zion Evangelical Church of Christ, Daughter of the Nile, a charter member of GAK (German American Klub), DANK (Deutsch American National Kongress), and Leiderkranz. Ursula enjoyed retail therapy, dancing, her floral garden at her home, lunch with friends at the Heidelberg Haus Cafe, and sitting at her kitchen table to talk about everything, especially history. Above all, Ursula adored her family, and was overjoyed when new babies were added to the family. She was a loving wife, mother, Omi, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by many.
Ursula will be fondly remembered by her children, May Cline-Pippen, Dona (William) Thomas, Bernard (Joyce) Cline, and Donald (Teresa) Cline II; grandchildren, LaRonika (Nate) Larson, Raechel (Mike) McCullough, Gregg (Clara) Thomas, Tracie (Jeremy) Rhynearson, Brandie (Jason) Sommerville, Lynnsey Cline, Joshua (Brittany) Cline; six great grandchildren; and several step-grand and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Ursula was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Cline; brother, Bernhardt Schumacher; and great granddaughter, Tallulah Larson.
Family will receive friends October 15, from 12:00pm - 2:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. In accordance with the Indiana state mandate, masks will be required by all visitors to the funeral home.
