It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Valdena Lynette Chick Navratil (Val), 80, of Greenwood, on April 19, 2025.
Val was born in Kittery, Maine on May 5,1944 to Ellsworth Chick and Helen Rogers Chick. She attended Robert W Traip Academy and graduated in 1962.
Val was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished her family and her faith in God above all else. She is a published author of a book of faith based poems and a talented artist and crafter who enjoyed gifting her creations to friends and family.  Val enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, nature, hiking, painting, crafting, and motorcycling. She was a long time member of Christian Motorcyclist Association. Val was known for her loving heart, generous nature, and sense of humor.
Val is survived by her husband Kenneth Richard Navratil, her son Rory Navratil (Pamela), her daughter Danielle Wischmeier (Denver), grandchildren Michael Wilson (Melissa), Brittany Harsch (Jonathan), and Caden Wischmeier (Lailah), great grandchildren Haylie Huffstetler (Zach), Emma Wilson, Grace Wilson, Jacob Wilson, Chloe, Ellie and Corbin Harsch; great great grandchildren Finley and Griffin Huffstetler, and her sisters Joyce Foley, Gloria Merrell, and Tami desBouvrie.
A Memorial Gathering will be held in her honor on the day of her 81st birthday May 5, 2025 at Gracepoint Church in Whiteland Indiana from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. A brief remembrance honoring Val will begin at 7:00 PM at the church.
Val was a shining example of a life lived in faith and was an encouragement to those around her. She has left an enormous void in the hearts and lives of her family and her beauty and grace will be missed by many.
