Vandy L. McCarty, 64, of Indianapolis, passed away November 13, 2012. The daughter of Robert E. and Anna Ruth Putnam Vance, Vandy was born March 18, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Vandy was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, drove a school bus for 7 years with Perry Township School Corporation and a Southport High School Booster Club and the 12th Man Crew member.

She is survived by her ex-husband, Kenneth J. McCarty of Franklin; daughters, Erin Lynn (David) Neu and Kara Lee Morgan, both of Indianapolis; brothers, Joe (Linda) Vance of Greenwood, Bill (Cindy) Vance of Greenwood, Alan (Linda) Vance of New Berlin, Wisconsin, Charles (Valinda) Vance of Louisville, Kentucky and Roger (Donna) Vance of Louisville, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Vandy was preceded in death by a son, James Ryan McCarty.

Services 11:00 a.m. November 19, 2012 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. November 18th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
