Obituary

Venia M. Wheat passed away quietly July 13, 2014 having lived a full life of 96 years. She was a hard-working woman who owned, along with her husband, an award winning Dairy Queen in Indianapolis, Indiana. From Kentucky roots, she was a gun slinging robber fighter, square dancer, craft and pie maker, lover of pink and roller derby queen. She was always spotless and dressed totally coordinated. She was feisty as hell, tough as nails and shockingly funny. She taught the art of saving and the value of working hard. She was a devoted wife and now has joined her husband, Bill Wheat. She was a loving mother of Hannah Holt, a proud grandmother of Todd, Kris and Shaye Troha and a great-grandmother Memo for Carter, Milena, Clayton and Willa Troha. She leaves behind family and friends who absolutely adored her. She is loved and will be missed forever.
Viewing will be on Thursday, July 17 from 5 to 7 pm at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 West Main Street, Leesburg, Florida. A chapel service will be on Saturday, July 19 at 12:30 pm at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ben Franklin Mausoleum, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana.
