Vera Brigitte Dorothea Bales passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at home surrounded by family.  She was born October 3, 1934 in Berlin, Germany. Her parents were the late Alois and Dorothea Engelhardt  Vera is survived by daughters, Loana (Jeff) Minor and Tania Bales; siblings Maniena (Joe) Maring and Mario (Gerlinde) Engelhardt; grandchildren, Daniela Snow, Dustin (Shawna) Dannettelle, Maiya Bales, Javen Sigman, and Jon (Shirley) Minor; great grandchildren, Keira Snow, Lucas Dannettelle, Jonathan Smallwood, Kassie Smallwood, and Madison Minor; five nieces, and 1 great niece.  Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Chalmer Bales, Jr.; brother, Enrico Engelhardt; and sister, Ilonka Engelhardt.  A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 1-5 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
