Mr. Vern Kissinger Eggers, Indianapolis, passed away on the early evening of Friday, January 19, 2024. He was 93. Vern was born May 28, 1930 in Martinsville, Indiana, a son of the late Charles and Flossie (Bunton) Eggers.
Vern attended Buffalo High School in Martinsville and had been employed with Roadway Express as a truck driver for many until his retirement. He also honorably served his country in the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict.
Vern spent much of leisure time riding motorcycles and traveling with his wife, especially to Florida. He enjoyed watching television, especially old western movies and Fox News. He was also a fan of Rush Limbaugh and reading Motorcycle Magazine. He liked to 'tinker' around his home and looked forward to getting together and eating with the Roadway guys at Golden Corral. Vern also enjoyed playing his harmonica and singing old country and gospel songs with his family.
Vern is survived by his wife, Vicki Eggers; his children, Delia (Joe) Fluharty, Heather Eggers, Mike Eggers, Michele (Larry) Young, Kandy Weidlich, Jorene (Clay) Conkle and Christina (Bishop) Vanlanot and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his son, Mark Eggers and eight brothers and sisters.
Vern was entombed at a family gathering at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. There are no services planned at this time.
