Obituary

Vickor "Vick" Goad, age 91, died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Hickory Creek at Franklin. Born September 11, 1917 in Scottsville, KY, he was the son of Sherman and Iva (Gass) Goad. On May 28, 1947, he married Elizabeth (Schrader) Webb. Vick worked as a Maintenance engineer for Center Grove Schools and Methodist Hospital and was a farmer and horseman. Vick was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII and was a member of the American Legion, Valley Riders and Johnson County Boots & Saddle, Golden Spurs in Mooresville and Wagon Wheel Horse Club. He is survived by a daughter, Loretta Lay; a son, Dean Goad, a brother Marlin Douglas Goad and 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Vick also had 4 step-children and several step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Vick was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Visitation will be Monday, August 10th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1977 South State Road 135 in Greenwood, IN 46143. Services will be at 11:00am Tuesday at the funeral home.
