Obituary

Mrs. Virginia Lee Potts, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on the early evening of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age of 80 years. Virginia was born March 28, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a beloved daughter of the late Opal Virgil Booher and Pauline Virginia Robertson.

Virginia attended Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis and devoted her life to what she cherished most—her family. As a homemaker, Virginia created a warm and loving home, faithfully caring for her children and supporting her husband throughout their 53 years of marriage.

A devoted Christian, Virginia was a member of River of Life Church and she and her husband had previously been members at Beech Grove Church of God. Her faith was central to her life; she never missed her daily devotions and found great comfort in reading her Bible. She also enjoyed listening to Christian music, especially on K-LOVE.

Virginia will be remembered as a kind and loving soul who never met a stranger. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching television, especially Christmas programs, The Andy Griffith Show, and game shows. She loved the outdoors, taking pride in working in her yard, and found happiness in long drives in her car she adored and taking quiet walks. Her gentle spirit and warm heart touched all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children: Threasa (Doyle) Shotts, Cheryl Kubon, Anna Shaw, and Bradley Potts, Jr. (fiancée Kelli Fairfield); her eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Jack Booher; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Bradley Ernest Potts, Sr., and her siblings, Judy Kruse, Jim Davis and Bob Davis.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood with Pastor Greg Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.

Family and friends may gather from 11:00 AM until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the American Cancer Society.
