Vivian Grace
Pennell
Jun 6, 1926 — May 25, 2020
Indianapolis
Vivian Grace Pennell, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, May 25, 2020. She was born June 6, 1926 in Leetonia, Ohio to James and Grace (Kipfer) Manse.
Vivian met the love of her life, Courtney Pennell, in high school in Lisbon, Ohio and after Courtney was honorably discharged from the military, they married on August 9, 1945. Together they raised 2 children. Vivian was a secretary for the Lisbon and Coshocton elementary schools during the 1960's and 70's, but the center of her life was being a wife and mother. She was married to Courtney for 73 years until his passing last year. When they were younger they would love to entertain and go out dancing with friends. Vivian was an excellent cook and loved entertaining friends. Most of all she loved her family. Her love grew as her family grew to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The time she spent with them was precious. Vivian was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Vivian is survived by daughter, Debra Denning of Greenwood, Indiana; son Scott Pennell of Norwalk, Connecticut; four grandchildren Katie, Matthew, Andrea, and Drew; and three great-grandchildren Elijah, Lila, and Aiden.
In addition to her parents, Vivian was preceded in death by her sister, Constance (Manse) Alig.
There will be a private service for Vivian Saturday, May 30 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research: https://www.michaeljfox.org/ .
