Walter Stevens, age 88, of Greenwood, passed away March 9, 2010 at his home. He was born Sept. 29, 1921 in Bloomington, IN to Jim and Minnie Stevens. He was a WWII Army/Air Corp veteran, and worked at Diamond Chain in maintenance and heat treat. He was a member of the V.F.W. #5468 Greenwood, the American Legion #252 Greenwood, and he attended Faith Deliverance Church in Franklin. He married his wife, Gladys, on Nov. 27, 1945 and she preceded him in death on Dec. 31, 2002. Walter is survived by his son, Robert (Karen) Stevens, of Martinsville, IN, and his daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Moore, Morgantown, IN; one sister, Pauline Mullis, of Bloomington, IN; two grandchildren, Aaron Hopkins and Shayna Stevens, and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thurs. March 11, 2010 at 2:00PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
