Wanda Mae Burdine Smith, 86, passed away July 30, 2014 at her Greenwood residence surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Dewey and Ora (Hash) Burdine, Wanda was born May 20, 1928 in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
A member of Greenwood Christian Church, Wanda loved quilting, embroidering, bird watching, reading, gardening and working word search puzzles. When able, she loved to travel and enjoyed spoiling her family. She retired in 1988 as a lead lady from Specialty Connectors.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Ella M. Ward of Greenwood; grandchildren, Angie Ward, Lisa M. (John) Lewchanin and Jason Ward, all of Greenwood; sisters, Inez (Jerry) Insko of Whiteland, Irene (Bob) Nolte of Beech Grove, Gladys Chaney of Somerset, Kentucky and Glenda (Dennis) Hibbard of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Besides her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L. Smith; daughter, Norma Jean Smith; sisters, Winona Farmer, Jewel Spears, Helen Spicer, Faye Burdine; brothers, Winfield, Willard and Don Burdine.
Rev. Perry Anderson will conduct funeral services at 11:00 a.m. August 2, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. August 1, 2014 at the funeral home.
