Mr. Wayne Elbert Poisson, Indianapolis, passed away on the early morning of Saturday, July 2, 2022. He was 82. Wayne was born August 31, 1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of the late Maurice and Hazel (Lyman) Poisson.
Wayne spent his childhood in Minnesota and attended North High School in Minneapolis and was a member of the graduating Class of 1957. He had been self-employed for over 20 years specializing in after-market manufacturing equipment. After that, he worked for nearly 18 more years for Velox Corporation in sales retiring in 2021.
Wayne spent much of his leisure time doing what he enjoyed most, talking about politics. An avid Republican, he was a regular contributor to the Republican National Committee and was a member of the NRA.
Wayne got much pleasure from driving, playing pool volleyball and softball in his younger years. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and cherished the time they spent together. Wayne was a huge storyteller and was always up to telling a good joke.
Wayne is survived by his children, Charlie (Chris) Poisson, Lynne (Martin) Young, Julie Taylor, Barry (Abbie) Poisson, Trisha (Nicholas) Kidwell and Micki Poisson; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Elaine Mary (Weincek) Poisson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Monday, July 11, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens following the services.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
