It is with sadness we mourn the loss of our father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and friend to so many.

Wayne E. Rader, 88, a long term member of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully December 17, 2016 after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was born in Clinton, IN on October 27, 1928 to Thomas and Lillian. Wayne had one sister, Doris, predeceased.

He was married to Betty Sherrill, the love of his life for over 50 years and was the father to Rick (Dorcas), Steve (Donna), Tony (Sharon) and Karin (Leonard) Gorski and the grandfather to Steve, Jr., Angie, Wayne, Jr., John, Andrea, Chad, Lauren, Bryan and Sarah.

Wayne was employed at Merchant''s National Bank, Indianapolis from 1953 - 1989. He also served as City County Councilman, District #15 from 1983 - 1987. He was an avid Colts fan and enjoyed playing cards and bowling with his many friends. He also enjoyed collecting coins over the years.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, sister and wife.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a multitude of friends.

All who knew Wayne were touched by his warmth and friendship. Our hearts are heavy with sadness and filled with a lifetime of memories for which we are so thankful. Until we meet again.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21 from 12 pm - 2 pm with a funeral service at 2 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood.
