Wilbur (Jiggs) James VanDerMoere, 95 of Greenwood passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. He was born June 14th 1926 in Indianapolis, IN to the late James William and Marie Alberta (Linze) VanDerMoere.

He is survived by his three daughters Gail Ann (Gordon) Briggs, Leslie Jo (Mark) Nacke and Beth Kay (Jim) Dugan; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Wilbur is preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Frances (Cline) VanDerMoere; two brothers Lee William and Herbert Ray VanDerMoere and a sister Edna Alberta (Mitzie) Grubbs.

Jiggs entered the Army at the age of 18 shortly after military discharge he worked for the US Postal Service where he retired after 40 years of service.
Jiggs loved traveling with his family, and took them every year camping across the country. Another enjoyment of Jiggs' was fishing in which he took a trips with family or his buddies. In retirement, he and Myrtle spent the winter months in Florida in their RV and traveled the country, many times taking a grandchild along. Jiggs had a great passion for his family and loved to spoil his grandchildren. Jiggs never met a stranger, always knew everyone's name.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 11:00 until the time of service at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Wilbur will be laid to rest next to his loving wife with full military honors at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
