Obituary

William A. "Bill" Franklin, 90, went to be with his Lord March 12, 2013. Born to Calvin A. Franklin and Hassie M. Linder, he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army and served in WW II and the Korean War. Bill enjoyed listening to gospel music, and worked at Mallory and Allison Transmission for 48 years combined.

Bill is survived by his sons, James A. (Irene) of Indianapolis and Charles K. (Nancy) Franklin of Kokomo, IN; daughter, Rose M. (Charles) Hunter of Indianapolis; brother, James A. (Lavern) Franklin of Minnesota; half brother, Charles (Jeanie) Albrecht of Nashville, IN; half sister, Betty Graves; 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Edith J. (Bastin) Franklin, one brother, Thomas Franklin; three sisters, Vivian Lee, Doris Gray, and Elizabeth Nelson; two grandsons, William A. and Anthony A. Franklin.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
