Mr. William Alan "Bill" Kingsley, Anderson, passed away on the morning of Sunday, October 10, 2021. He was 80. Bill was born April 11, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a son of the late William Adrian and Dorothy (Mix) Kingsley.

Bill attended Western Hills High School in Cincinnati and was a member of the graduating Class of 1949. Bill was a proud veteran and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

Shortly after his discharge from the Marines, he became a barber in Cincinnati and owned his own barber shop for a few years. He enjoyed singing and while there was a member of the King's Men Barbershop Chorus. He was a member of the Western Hills-Cheviot Lodge No. 140, F&AM and the Scottish Rite.

After moving to Indiana, he settled his family in the Beech Grove area and was a member of the American Legion Post 276 and the Beech Grove United Methodist Church. In keeping with his love of music, he also sang with the Chordlighters Barbershop chorus in Franklin for several years. Bill played the accordion, banjo and harmonica as well. He had been employed by several trucking companies over the years and retired from Superior Carriers, Inc., in 2008 after over 20 years of service as an over-the-road driver.

In his leisure time, Bill was an avid NASCAR fan and followed Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed playing golf and watching Indiana University basketball and listening to old country music. Bill loved people and was a socializer and always enjoyed a good conversation with anyone he would meet.

Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy Jean (Sowers) Kingsley; his children, Mike (Sandy) Kingsley, Robb (Beth) Kingsley and Kim (Allen) Bowdell; his grandchildren, Heather Johnson, Jamie (Andrew) Jaggers, Maleena (Weston) Reed, Matthew Pryor, Ryan Kingsley and Jack Kingsley; his great-grandchildren, Leo Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Blake Haines, Beau Jaggers, Addison Jaggers, Izabella Reed and Noah Reed as well as his nieces and nephew.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his first wife, Elizabeth (Braugitan) Kingsley; a son, James L. Jones;  grandchildren, Dillon Johnson and Olivia Combs; a great-grandson, Phillip Johnson as well as his sisters, Wilma and Karen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 18, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
