Obituary

William E. Davis passed away December 20 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Muncie, Indiana on May 15, 1923. He worked for Western Electric until joining the Marine Corps to serve his country in World War II and the Korean War. He attended Butler University before beginning his career as an Electrical Engineer with Eli Lilly, retiring after 36 years of loyal service. He was a member of Gray Road Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He devoted his years of retirement to serving the Lord through the church and helping people in the community. He visited people who were ill or shut-in, and helping wherever needed in the community. He often said those were the most joyous years of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years, Lois (Weaver) Davis; Two sons, Michael Davis of Damascus, MD, and Mark Davis of St. Leonard, MD; One daughter, Kristi Johnson of Danville, Indiana; One sister, Barbara Lindahl of San Francisco, California; Eight grandchildren; and Six great-grandchildren. Calling will be Monday, December 22 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. St. Rd. 135, Greenwood, IN., 46143. Services will be conducted Tuesday, December 23 at 11:00 AM at Gray Road Baptist Church, 5500 Gray Rd. Indianapolis, IN. 46237.
