William "Bill" Leslie Wallace, 91, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020 in his home.  Bill was born April 24, 1929 in Indianapolis to Ira and Inez (Dunbar) Wallace.

Bill worked for more than 40 years at Allison Transmission and retired in 1988. When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing with his friends.  August 20, 1948, Bill married the love of his life, Hilda Houser.  Together they raised 3 boys.  In his spare time, Bill liked to spend time on the golf course or out in the garden with Hilda, planting the straightest rows of vegetables.  Although Bill may have had a gruff exterior, beneath it he had the heart of a teddy bear.  He was always there to make sure everyone was taken care of.  Bill is loved dearly by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Bill is survived by his sons, William Jr., Steve (Marcia), and Barry (Bonnie) Wallace; grandchildren, Tony, Corey, Eric, Emily, Kelly and Rick; great grandchildren, Joseph, Aaron, Lily, Tanner, Alex, Aiden, Olivia, Ivy, William and Ian; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters, Mary Lou and Alberta, many nieces and nephews; and his beloved little dog, Mia.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Hilda, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, June, and daughter-in-law, Nancy.

There will be a drive through visitation on Thursday, May 7 from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143 with a private graveside funeral to follow.
