Obituary

William Ralph Mattingly, 85, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011. Ralph was born on January 5, 1926 in Indianapolis to the late Walter John and Mary (Gough) Mattingly. Ralph is a graduate of Cathedral High School. He married Mary Jane Moshenrose in 1947.
Ralph is a U.S. Navy veteran. Ralph came from a large East-side Catholic family of twelve children. He worked 35 years as a truck salesman for International Harvester Company before retiring in 1988. Ralph also catered to various companies and organizations with Matt''s Barbeque. Ralph had memberships with the Indianapolis Traffic Club, the American Legion, and LST Association. He enjoyed fishing in Canada, picnics, traveling with his wife Mary Jane, and spending time with his entire family.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife Mary Jane; their children: Jane Robins (Bert), Bill Mattingly (Tiffany), Tom Mattingly (Beverly), Casey Mattingly (Lores), Patrick Mattingly, and Andrew Mattingly; sister Pauline Mershon (Lewis); 7 grandchildren: Eden Robins, Sarah Mattingly, John Walter Mattingly, Elizabeth Grace Mattingly, Casey S. Mattingly, Lilia Mattingly, and Ryan Mattingly; and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 10, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 8300 Rahke Road, Indianapolis, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association.
