William E. McIntire, 88, of Indianapolis passed away on January 3, 2018. William was born in Madison, IN on June 16, 1929 to William A. and Viola F. McIntire. Bill enjoyed camping and gardening. For many years William was a dedicated Boys Scout Leader. William proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. William loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by many. William is preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Allison B. Redick and Ronald W. Hall. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Donna Jean (Ebbeler) McIntire; children, Karen (Ned) McIntire-Redick, John (Patti) McIntire, Cynthia (Jeff) McIntire-Hall, Sylvia McIntire-Steigerwald and Carol (Greg) McIntire-Kello; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; sister, Helen Kirschner; brother, Albert McIntire. A Memorial Service will be held, 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143 with visitation from 12:00 P.M. until the start of service.
