Obituary

William Leonard Mudd, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away July 14, 2014. The son of James Madison and Helen Gertrude (Allmeroth) Mudd, William was born September 24, 1929 in Indianapolis.

He had been a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fountain Square for many years and in recent years, attended St. Mark Catholic Church. He served our country in the U.S. Army. For 11 years, he worked for Pepsi Cola as a custodian. He retired after 45 years from RCA, where he was a lift truck operator. William was a member of the American Legion, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters - Local 135 and served with the Volunteer Fire Department in Ninevah, Indiana.

William is survived by daughters, Theresa M. Minor of Indianapolis and Mary U. (Ben) Dingess of Muncie; sisters, Mary Hodges of Beech Grove and Esther Roberts of Indianapolis; grandchildren, William W. Minor of Syracuse, New York, Desire' Minor (Christopher) Burdine of Franklin, Anna M Dingess of Muncie and Benjamin E. Dingess, Jr. of Muncie; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Alyssa Burdine, both of Franklin. Besides his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Roselea V. (Wills) Mudd on September 18, 1996 and a sister, Anna Yetter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call after 10:00. Entombment with military honors will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
