William M. Pender Jr., 77, of Indianapolis passed away October 21, 2016. He was born in Bedford, IN on January 27, 1939.

William was a member of the FOP Lodge #86 and St. Roch Catholic Church. He was a police officer for the Indianapolis Police Department and also worked in the Marion County Crime Lab. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

William is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia (Mehaffey) Pender; son, Nicholas S. (Terri) Pender; daughter, Sally K. (Denis) Knippenberg; grandchildren, Alexis and Jacob Knippenberg and his loving canine companion, Bandit.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26 from 4 pm - 8 pm in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 10 am in St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania St. Indianapolis. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
