William Lawrence Watkins' Obituary
William Lawrence Watkins, age 89, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He was born September 9, 1924 to Virl A. and Grace S. Watkins in Princeton, Indiana.
William was a graduate of Purdue University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. William worked as an Electrical Engineer at RCA and General Electric. He was also a WW II veteran with the United States Marine Corp as a T/Sgt. He was a member of the Association of Scientist and Professional Engineering; Prince Lodge #230 F&AM of Princeton, IN; Scottish Rite consistory, Valley of Southern New Jersey and VFW Post #1141 in Princeton, Indiana.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Ann Johnson; daughter, Rebecca Ann Oaks; brother, Richard Watkins; grandchildren Rachel Ann Oaks, Kyle William Oaks and Michael Stephen Oaks; great granddaughter, Raylie Sue Wooline. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, James A. and Charles E. Watkins
There will be no services. Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting with arrangements.
