Obituary

Wilson N. Duthie, 93, of Greenwood, IN. passed away April 6, 2015. He was born the son of Alexander and Christie Duthie in Fraserburgh, Scotland on September 28, 1921. Wilson graduated from Fraserburgh Academy and Robert Gordon''s College in Aberdeen, graduating with a Higher National Certificate in Mechanical Engineering while working as an apprentice with Consolidated Pneumatic Tool Co. On completion of his apprenticeship, he was employed as a Mechanical Design Engineer with Armstrong Siddley Engine Co. in Coventry, England; Orenda Engines in Toronto, Canada; Detroit Diesel in Detroit, Michigan; and Allison Engine Company in Indianapolis. He retired from Allison in 1999. He was a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Canada, and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in England. Wilson loved to fish and dance and was a member of the now-closed Indianapolis Seniors Center.

He is survived by his son, Glenn Duthie and two granddaughters, Heather and Hannah Duthie; great grandson, Eli James Duthie. He is preceded in death by his wife Edith (Colvin), and son, Alan Duthie. Wilson will be laid to rest along side of his wife and son at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South S.R. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
