Zella Mae Matlock was born July 27, 1940 in Glasgow, Kentucky, the daughter of Denver H. Parsley and Beadie Emberton Parsley Berry.
Zella was a member of Fleming Gardens Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling, loved to cook and took pride in gardening and tending to her yard.
Zella passed away on October 13, 2014 in Indianapolis at the age of 74. She is survived by her husband, Samuel T. Matlock; daughter, Kimberly S. Matlock; stepdaughters, Amy M. Matlock and Samantha J. Sidwell; brothers, David, Anthony, Read (Rita), Bobby (Doris), Gary (Betty), Larry (Joan) and Jerry (Debbie) Parsley; grandchildren, Taylor and John Sidwell, Devin, Peighton and Joey Emmert and Michael Ubelhauser; father-in-law, Samuel H. Matlock; brother-in-law, James Waites; sister-in-law, Linda Waites; nieces and nephews, Jimmy, Tommy, Cindy, Sam, Sarah, Alicia, David and Cathy. Besides her parents, Zella was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Alma L. Matlock, brothers, Melton, Clifton, Charles, Paul and Ernest Parsley; sisters, Virginia J. Ubelhauser and Mary Parsley and brother-in-law, John H. Matlock.
Pastor Don Thomas will conduct funeral services 12:00 noon October 16, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. October 15, 2014 at the funeral home.
