Zelma D. Kinder, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away September 24, 2014. She was the 4th daughter of Leonard and Minervia Davis, born in Segal, KY on Feb. 23, 1931. Zelma graduated from Shawswick High School near Bedford, IN in 1949. Zelma and Charlie Kinder were married Aug. 20, 1949 in Bedford, IN and they relocated to Speedway, IN where they both were employed by the Allison Division of GM. Zelma left Allison later and was employed by Linde Air in Speedway.
She then decided to become a real estate salesperson and broker and was employed by the Century 21, M.A. Teter Realty in Indianapolis. In March, 1991, Zelma and Charlie were divorced. Charlie married Maxine Grinley of Indianapolis and decided to go into the home rental business of refurbishing old, run down homes into good rental property. Zelma remained in the real estate profession until the 1990''s when she became a hostess for a motel chain in Southern IN until she retired in 2008.
Visitation will be at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood, IN 46143 on Sept. 26th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. At Zelma''s request, there will be no service or open casket.
